I’ve been invited to participate in a fantastic competition “Capture the Colour” hosted by the TravelSupermarket http://www.travelsupermarket.com/c/holidays/capture-the-colour/. I love photography, color and travel, so this one is right up my alley! Thank you to Fluent in Frolicking for nominating BonPhotage!
Categories Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and White are judged by:
- Blue Judge: Ken Kaminsky of Ken Kaminsky
- Red Judge: Daniel Nahabedian of Canvas of Light
- Green Judge: Abi King of Inside the Travel Lab
- Yellow Judge: Dave and Deb Bouskill of Planet D
- White Judge: Christine Gilbert of Almost Fearless
BLUE
After a four and a half hour boat ride from the Honduran island of Roatan to the tiny pirate island of Utila, I stepped off the boat into knee high warm water. Blue crabs, native to the region, lined the shore.
RED
Moto-taxis and tuk-tuk’s are common forms of transportation in Vietnam. But, a Volkswagon van?? Not so much. Especially not through a perfectly-sized hole in a giant tree…
YELLOW
The bluefin tuna caught off northeastern Japan fetched a record $736,000 in the first auction of the year at the fish market. The tuna was caught off Oma in Aomori prefecture and just north of the coast that was battered by the March 11 tsunami.
GREEN
The Duoro Valley in Northern Portugal remains one of my favorite places in Europe. Green and yellow rolling hills look more like a painting than a photograph. Oh and the wine from this region is fabulous!
WHITE
Starved Rock National Park is located in Illinois, USA. After several hours of hiking, the cold waterfall felt amazing. I took this photograph from behind the waterfall.
As part of the competition, I must nominate five other people to enter.

Great selection, I’m sure you’ll do well.
Wonderful photos and color.
Amazing luck to see that red van in a tree!
