I keep telling myself that I am going to wait for the film scans before releasing the next wedding sneak peek, but THEN, I go through the digital images and find so many beautiful and heartfelt moments, that I cannot wait (instant satisfaction of being a hybrid shooter!) And so here I find myself again, scrolling through the beauty of Friday, January 20, 2017, when Kathryn and Matt said "I do."

January 20, 2017 may go down in history as one of the most divisive days in this country's history, but I am honored to say that I was fortunate enough to witness the kind of unity amongst humans that ensures that LOVE will always trump hate. Kathryn and Matt's day was beautiful from beginning to end..period.

Bonphotage Chicago Wedding Photography - Holy Family Church + Ovation

Meanwhile, Bonphotage Associate Rachel, hung out with the groom and his best men at their family home, which conveniently boasted a roof deck and perfect spot for natural light portraits! Rachel had the opportunity to capture so many sweet moments including a sign Matt had made of song lyrics special to him and Kathryn.

The ceremony took place at one of the most architecturally stunning churches in Chicago, Holy Family Church. With its high ceilings, arches and beautiful stained glass, it was a beautiful location for love! Matt's facial expression when he saw his beautiful bride coming down the aisle was absolutely priceless! After the ceremony and a grand exit, the newlywed couple left in a Rolls Royce!

We then made a few stops at iconic Chicago locations such as the Chicago River, Kinzie Bridge and super fun Dawson restaurant! Then, on to the reception at one of our favorite loft spaces in Chicago's West Loop - Ovation! My jaw dropped (and so did Kathryn's!) when I saw the reception set up with long wooden tables adorned with candles and flowers. The warm setting and low to the table candles created the perfect bokeh for some amazing food shots (see below!) After heartfelt speeches and lots of tears, their guests enjoyed a bbq feast from Chicago's local gem, Smoke Daddy. The dancing and partying continued into the evening and even included an encore performance by the best man!
