Our 1890's Lincoln Park Chicago Home Renovation - Stairrunner makeover with Rouzati Rugs!

It’s been 8 months in the making but we are so excited to share a personal project we’ve poured our heart and soul into! Last year, we purchased our forever home, an 1890’s historic Victorian home in Lincoln Park. The home had great bones but a massive renovation was in store and we learned so much along the way!

In what will be a series of posts sharing our journey, including a complete kitchen renovation, multiple bathroom renovations, basement rehab, addition of a roof deck and much more, we are starting with one of the most impactful changes we made (from an aesthetic and safety perspective!) and that was the addition of the stair runners. Now, our house has a LOT of stairs - 144 to be exact (hello quads!) but with two little ones and old hardwood stairs, we needed a safety solution but wanted it to go well with the Contemporary Parisian vibe we were going for.

After meeting with multiple vendors, we stumbled across Rouzati Rugs and were blown away by the quality materials they had to offer. Even more so, the family-owned company could not have been kinder and more skilled to work with. Jafar and Ali are a father-son team who are truly a joy to be around! They made the whole process so easy for us by providing multiple examples and installing in a timely and unobtrusive way. They also were wonderful with communication - making sure we were satisfied the whole way through the process and being so flexible with this mom of two’s crazy schedule!
