Where do we start with these two?? How about the fact that when walked in the hotel room at the start of the day, we immediately felt like Sophia had been our bestie for years?? We were laughing and having fun from the start, and it’s a good thing too— because Friday the 13th tested us at every turn! Through every obstacle we faced: construction, traffic, rain, a bad tumble (thankfully everyone was okay!!), these two kept smiling and taking a step back to take in the big picture of their wedding day. We were so impressed by how they handled everything that came their way with grace and laughter, and kept the shining light of their love burning bright. It bodes well for their life together: they clearly will be tackling everything as a team. Which is what marriage is all about.

The silver lining to having to push out a big wedding celebration due to covid was the opportunity to capture Shannon and Jim’s nuptials, not once - but twice! The lovebirds said I do last year in an intimate ceremony and waited for this year for their big reception at the Drake Hotel…and we would say WOW was it ever worth the wait! The difference between being a good and a great wedding photographer is the ability to capture all of the little in between moments. Sure, the first kiss is important, the bride walking down the aisle is a must, but what about that split second where a mother sees her daughter in her wedding gown for the first time? The reaction occurs in an instant, and the documented image is one the bride and family will cherish forever.
