Read MoreI literally squealed when these film scans landed in my inbox. Quite possibly the most beautiful wedding we've had the privilege of covering, Nicole + Tarik's special day was nothing short of a dream! The ceremony took place by the chapel steps at the historic Chateau Bouthonvilliers in the French Countryside. It had been raining in the morning but the skies opened up with the perfect amount of sun and light breeze right before they said "I do" (a film photographer's dream!) The flowers from Floresie were out of this world (see her bouquet!!) and we absolutely cannot forget Nicole's blush Lazaro dress which literally stopped me in my tracks! Every detail was accounted for, from the oval emerald stunning engagement ring, to the hand calligraphed vow books to the studded louboutins, and all of it was perfectly executed by Mayra from The Event House.

Sure, the first kiss is important, the bride walking down the aisle is a must, but what about that split second where a mother sees her daughter in her wedding gown for the first time? The reaction occurs in an instant, and the documented image is one the bride and family will cherish forever. Read MoreI met with a couple interested in wedding photography today and I asked them what abut our photos made them reach out to us over all the other photographers. I expected to hear something like "we love film photography" or "we saw this photo in such and such magazine," but their answer caught me surprise. The bride-to-be said "I think what really drew me to your website was the fact that it looked like your couples were genuinely having a really fun time working with you!" I loved her answer, as obviously, aside from beautiful photography, that is our goal!
When Bilu + Hao's film scans came in today right after my meeting and I saw the laughter and unmistakable happiness, I realized she was right. We DO have so much fun with our clients! Maybe because they're *this* stinking cute??!! We love our jobs at Bonphotage. That is all.

Read MoreI was shooting an editorial in Hawaii when I received a call from Katie Weir asking if I was available on May 6, 2017 to photograph her wedding in Nashville to her long time love, country music-recording artist, Josh Gracin. Those of you who know me and know I grew up in the high desert in Southern California where country music was all the rage, might understand why I had to double check that I had heard correctly. I grew up watching Josh's career begin on American Idol and then listening to his hits on the radio. Of course, my answer to Katie was "Heck Yes!"
Shortly after, Katie and Josh made the trek to Chicago with their *adorable* German Shepard to take their engagement photos. Katie looked stunning in an ombre red BCBG dress and glittery Jimmy Choo's and oh...her RING...*swoon*!
I can hardly wait for their big day and am so honored to have had the privilege to document their engagement (coming to a fab magazine soon!)

Their ceremony took place in the sunlit ballroom overlooking the golf course and pond. Pretty purple and white flowers were placed carefully along the aisle. Guests then dined before heartfelt speeches and dancing well into the night! We are honored to have photographed their special day!

I knew when James contacted me to capture the proposal he'd been planning to his love Kristin, that this one would be special. Not only had be purchased a *stunning* yellow diamond but he had also arranged to have his mother, Kristin's mother and Kristin's best friend surprise her after the proposal. You'd never know the weather was below 30 degrees based on the happy smiles on this newly engaged couple! After ice skating and stopping for hot chocolate, they headed to Milton Lee Olive Park where Kristin thought they were meeting with one of their friends. Much to her surprise (scroll down for *priceless* surprise face), James dropped to his knee and asked her to be his forever. Of course, she said YES!
